Eleanor Kretzer Kavod Awards 2016
Time to Share

Your sisterhood has been very busy. Now it's time to share all the good things you have been doing since our last District Convention – and be recognized for your creativity, dedication, and hard work. Show us all your sisterhood's successful endeavors. The Kavod Committee is ready to review and honor your sisterhood for your excellent work and originality. We are looking for innovative programming, outstanding projects, and significant contributions to social action that exemplify the spirit of tikkun olam.

The sisterhoods whose projects and programs are selected as recipients will be presented with the Eleanor Kretzer Kavod Award at the WRJ Pacific District Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, which will be held November 3-6, 2016. Following Convention all submissions will be posted to the WRJ Programming Yammer site and on the WRJ PD website for sisterhoods to share.

Need a reminder of the categories?
  • Advancement of Judaism: A religious, spiritual or educational service, program or class.
  • Community Service: A social action, critical issues, or community outreach program or project exemplifying the spirit of tikkun olam.
  • Leadership & Board Development: A successful training and/or motivational program that made an investment in the future of your Sisterhood.
  • One Time Fundraiser: An outstanding, successful single event.
  • Ongoing Fundraiser: An ongoing fundraising project, or weekly, monthly or periodic project carried out within the past two years.
  • Program: An outstanding social program, lecture, class or special event.
  • Public Relations: An advertising campaign used for an event or to promote your sisterhood - newsletters, bulletins, posters and invitations used for the event, and/or the copy used for a successful media campaign.
  • Youth: An activity or event that most benefited the youth in your synagogue or community.

Normally eight awards are selected, one from each category. However, the committee has discretion to award the eight best programs including election of more than one from a category and none from another.

Applications will be accepted between June 15 and September 25, 2016. Questions? Please contact Alexis at Kavod.wrjpd@gmail.com.

All submissions will be on display throughout the convention. Join us to view the wonderful work of our sisterhoods at the 2016 District Convention in November!
