Sending Listserv Messages
The guidelines below will keep the listserv running smoothly, enabling it to be a valuable resource:

  1. Sign your messages with your name, e-mail address, congregation, location, and sisterhood district. 
  2. Give your e-mail an accurate subject such as installation ideas and/or fundraising ideas, etc. 
  3. Be sure that your posts are easy to read.  Use line-breaks and paragraph spacing. 
  • Do not type all CAPS; not only are they difficult to read, but using all capital letters in writing e-mails is perceived as screaming 
4.  Post only messages that have relevancy to WRJ/sisterhood.  
  • Do not use the WRJ listserv to send jokes or recipes.  
  • Chain letters and advertising are not permitted. 
  • You may not promote events, unless they are sisterhood-sponsored events. 


Replying to Listserv Messages
There are two ways to reply to a message:
  1. Using the REPLY ALL button will send your response to the entire listserv through the e-mail address of the listserv, wrjsp@womenofreformjudaism.org 
  2. Using just the REPLY Button will send your response only to the person who wrote the listserv posting you are responding to. 

Your Listserv Subscription
By default, you are set to receive all e-mails as they are posted to the listserv.  If you'd
prefer to receive a digest (one e-mail which includes all posts to the listserv from each
day), please:
  1. Click on the following link: http://catalog.womenofreformjudaism.org/mailman/listinfo/wrjsp 
  2. Enter your e-mail address next to the Unsubscribe or edit options button & click it. 
  3. Enter your password.  You will then be brought to a screen where you can manage all of your subscription options.

Setting up Private Password
In order to set up your private listserv password, view the archived messages of your listservs, or change your delivery and contact information:
  1. Visit: http://catalog.womenofreformjudaism.org/mailman/listinfo/wrjsp 
  2. In the field at the bottom of the page that comes up, next to the button that says “Unsubscribe or edit options”, enter the e-mail address at which you receive emails from the wrjsp listserv and click the button. 
  3. Scroll down on the page that comes up and click the button that says “Remind” under “Password reminder”. You will receive an e-mail that contains your password. 
  4. Once you receive your password, you will be able to log onto this page by entering your password in the Password field.  You will then be able to change your password to something only you know. 
  5. To change your password on all of the lists you are subscribed to at one time, make sure to click the “Change globally” checkbox before clicking the “Change My Password” button. 

Digest Format Information
With a "digest" subscription, you receive larger messages (called "digests") at regular intervals, usually once per day or once per week. These "digests" are collections of individual list postings. Some lists are so active that they produce several digests per day.

Digests are a good compromise between reading everything as it is posted and feeling like the list is clogging your mailbox with a multitude of individual postings.

There are three digest formats: a "traditional", text-only format; a MIME format, which (with mail clients that understand MIME digests) "bursts" the individual messages out of the digest so that you can read them separately; and an HTML format, which requires an HTML mail clients.
