Why Should I attend this Convention?

There are so many reasons! The theme for this convention is Every Women, Every Voice.
  • Our committees have been working hard to make our time together into a journey of personal growth and enrichment with something for everyone.
  • Our workshops will offer opportunities to learn from amazing leaders/teachers who will guide us in finding our own voices within our communities and sisterhoods, and within ourselves.
  • Our Spirituality committee has been preparing meaningful services and study opportunities. We know from past evaluations that the experience of the praying together in member-written, member-led Shabbat services was often described as the highlight of our Conventions.

Over 70 women are working on 20 committees to bring this convention to you. Why? Because they have learned and grown, and cried and danced, and prayed at one or more of these conventions in the past and they want to bring the best experience they can think of to each of you in March of 2026.

We will pack in opportunities to
  • learn about WRJ supported camping experiences,
  • meet our YES Fund beneficiaries,
  • take part in a meaningful social action project,
  • meet and talk with our WRJ guests – one of whom will be Rabbi Liz P.G. Hirsch, the CEO of WRJ North America!  As well as Jane Karlin, WRJ Executive Committee member and Secretary.

And best of all, you will have the opportunity to make connections with interesting and dedicated women from all over the Pacific District. There will be optional early morning activities and late-night activities, with a special fun Saturday night 70’s themed night of Disco and Karaoke – don’t forget to bring your costumes!

What Is the Timeframe for Convention?

Convention begins with registration/check-in at noon on Thursday, March 12th, and our Kickoff Event will begin at 7:30 pm that same day. The convention will end at 12:30 pm on Sunday, March 15th. If you are on the in-coming Pacific District Board, (including Sisterhood Presidents) there will be a Board meeting from 1:30-3:30 Sunday afternoon. Pasadena is a historic and vibrant city so consider arriving early or staying an extra day or two to explore it.

What Is the Cost of Convention?

Registration: The sad fact is that this convention will be more expensive than previous ones, and that is due to the explosion of food and service costs over the past few years. The Early Bird cost to attend the convention will be $495.00 per person, available until 2/15/2026.

After that date, the cost will be $535 per person. This cost covers Lunch and Dinner on Friday and Saturday and Brunch on Sunday. Breakfasts and Thursday dinner will be on your own.

Hotel: The Hotel will extend a special rate of $199.00 per double occupancy through Friday February 13, 20026. After that date, the cost will increase and/or rooms may not be available. The hotel is accepting reservations for hotel rooms.

The possibility of home hospitality is being explored but nothing is in place at this time.

Can I Register for Only One Day?

Yes, we are pleased to announce a Saturday-only option which will include morning activities, Shabbat morning services, Torah study, two workshop sessions, the installation of the new District Board, Havdalah, the Saturday night party, lunch and dinner. The cost of registering for this Saturday only option is $225.00. This amount only covers the actual costs of the Saturday meals. But, in the spirit of inclusion, we wanted an option for those who work and cannot get time off to join us on Thursday or Friday.

Which Airport Shall I Fly Into?

The closest airports are Burbank and LAX. Burbank is about 30 minutes from the hotel, and LAX is between 45 minutes and an hour. The hotel does not offer a shuttle to either airport.

Alaska Airlines has extended a 7% discount (plus a $15.00 fee) for anyone traveling from anywhere into these cities between 3/9/26 and 3/23/26.

More information will be provided after you register for Convention.

Scholarships:

We know the costs to attend convention this year is high, but actually, the registration fee just barely covers the cost of food to be provided by the hotel and the rest of the costs will be raised through fundraising efforts such as tributes, sponsorships, and chance to win, as well as being underwritten by the district.

Scholarships are available to offset some of the costs, so consider applying for one of those if necessary. We’ve put aside a generous amount of money to fund scholarships, but we expect to receive more requests than in previous years.

In the meantime, there are several creative ways to help you pay for this convention. Please start by asking your own Sisterhood if there are any monies built into your budget to help defray the cost of convention. This could come under leadership development or even the President’s discretionary funds. Secondly, ask your clergy if there are any Temple monies available to help you attend this convention. Often Temple clergy have discretionary money to help with leadership development.

Applications for a Pacific District Scholarship are open now and will close on Monday, December 15th. Click here to apply. The scholarships will be granted in plenty of time for you to take advantage of the Early Bird registration fee, hotel registration block, and airfare deals.

Please Make A Commitment To Join Us Next March!

Without your attendance, we’ll be one woman short, so give yourself the gift of Sisterhood. Take a few days out of your regular schedule to learn and grow and study and pray together with so many wonderful women. It will change your life!

If you have any questions at this time, please feel free to reach out to Rhonda at: [email protected]

My Favorite Convention Memories
Lillian Burkenheim Silver

My favorite Convention memories are being with my Sisters exploring new experiences. My first Convention was in Oakland. We flew into San Francisco Airport and took the BART to Oakland. It was my first time leaving my family and trekking on a girls’ trip. And it was exciting, informative and fun. The seasoned members of our Sisterhood held nightly slumber parties for everyone, where we met and talked about what we learned, our lives and everything under the sun. There were so many exciting programs and ideas I remember being excited to come home and recreate some of them at our Sisterhood.

My second favorite Convention memory was at the Convention in Portland. There is just something so incredibly warm and embracing about being with friends you only see at Convention. The city, the convention, the people. I was inspired. Phyllis Bigelson gave a speech about getting involved with the District. I talked with her about opportunities and by the time we landed back in LA I was involved in planning the next Convention.

This year, there were no flights, no hotel, but there was still lots of opportunities to learn and connect. Can’t wait to find my next Convention memory!
