A BRAVE NEW WORLD: COMBATING the RISE of ANTISEMITISM

Resource Guide

The tragedy of October 7, 2023, lit the fuse for an explosion of worldwide antisemitism that few of us could have imagined.

As the Jewish community in Israel and the Diaspora reeled in shock, the reaction ranged from brutal physical and malicious verbal attacks to nonchalance and silence. Support was rare. In the years since, antisemitism has run rampant. For many, the trauma of October 7th never ended.

No matter where you rest on the political spectrum, everyday life- not just politics- has been infused with antisemitism, often in the guise of anti-Zionism. As a people, the Jewish community has been targeted with being personally responsible for Israeli policy toward Palestinians, and especially what’s being called the “genocide” in Gaza. Wearing Jewish symbols can earmark us for assault. We realize all too well that we, our homes, synagogues, schools, businesses, or even beaches can be targeted for attack.

Considering that antisemitism can travel around the world in mere seconds, the Jewish community faces its biggest threat since the Shoah. The complexity of this new/old antisemitism is daunting. The A Brave New World: Combating the Rise of Antisemitism Resource Guide will offer tools to provide you with personal support, as well as to give your Sisterhoods ideas for programming. The District can provide the program’s replay link upon request.

Am Yisrael Chai!
